Cari amici,
gli sport a rotelle faranno parte dei Programmi di gara alle Olimpiadi Giovanili 2014 a Nanjing!
La notizia sta già facendo il giro del mondo, correndo nella rete e portando speranza all’intero movimento del Pattinaggio a Rotelle: abbiamo finalmente l’opportunità di dimostrare che gli sport a rotelle hanno il potenziale atletico e l’abilità di attrarre l’audience più giovane ed essere degna di cominciare a far parte dei Giochi Olimpici!
La decisione è stata annunciata lo scorso sabato e questo è il primo riconoscimento reale per i nostri atleti, le nostre discipline e per tutti i valori che gli sport a rotelle promuovono e rappresentano. Sono contento che il nuovo direttivo IOC stia ora apprezzando l’enorme potenziale che le discipline degli sport a rotelle potranno portare all’intero movimento Olimpico. Dopo l’ultimo incontro con Christophe Dubi a Losanna il 19 di Novembre, sono tornato a casa rincuorato e più sereno poiché, tra gli altri punti di discussione, abbiamo anche parlato dei Giochi Olimpici Giovanili ed ho ricevuto un segnale positivo al riguardo.
Ma mai avrei creduto o sperato che quei segnali divenissero reali, dando ai nostri sogni olimpici una tale svolta e in così poco tempo.
E’ una grande soddisfazione per me avere la conferma di quello a cui ho creduto e constatato immediatamente dopo la decisione dell’IOC, così sconcertante per noi, di riammettere il Wrestiling ai Giochi: il lavoro svolto fino a questo punto non è stato in vano e non andrà perso! Questa notizia conferma che il messaggio che abbiamo cercato di portare è arrivato a destinazione: gli sport a rotelle sono freschi, giovanili, dinamici e degni di far parte del programma dei Giochi Olimpici! Non abbiamo mai voluto farne parte a tutti i costi: Abbiamo chiesto l’opportunità di dimostrare che possiamo portare nuovo vita all’intero movimento olimpico e finalmente avremo questa opportunità!
Nei prossimi mesi lavoreremo insieme per poter cogliere il meglio e dare ai nostri atleti l’opportunità di realizzare i Loro Sogni!

Dear friends,
The Roller Sports will be part of the Games Programme at the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing!
The news is already going around the world, running on the net and bringing hope to the entire movement of the Roller Skating: we finally have the opportunity to demonstrate that the roller sports have the athletic potential and the ability to attract the younger audience needed to make them worthy of becoming part of the Olympic Games!
The decision was announced last Saturday and this is the first real recognition for our athletes, our disciplines and for all the values that roller sports spreads and represents. I am glad that the new IOC management is now appreciating the enormous potential that the roller sports disciplines would provide to the entire Olympic movement. After the last meeting with Christophe Dubi in Lausane on November 19th, I returned home heartened and more serene because, among other issues, we talked also abut the Youth Olympics and I received positive signals regarding the matter.
But I would not have either believed or hoped that those signals would have become true, giving to our Olympic dream such a turn and so quickly!
It is a great satisfaction for me to have confirmation of what I have believed and stated immediately after the IOC decision, so disappointing for us, to re-admit the Wrestling in the Games: the work done so far has not been in vain and it will not be lost! This news is confirming that the message we tried to convey has got through: the roller sports are fresh, young, dynamic and worthy to be part of the Programme of the Olympic Games! We never wanted to be part of the Program at all costs: we asked for the opportunity to prove that we can bring a new life to the entire Olympic movement, and finally we will have this opportunity!
In the coming months we will work together to be able to pick the best and give our Athletes the opportunity to realize Their Dream!

Por fin empieza la aventura Olímpica!
Queridos amigos,
Los Roller Sports serán presentes en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud de 2014 en Nanjing!
La noticia ya está dando la vuelta al mundo en la red, dándole una gran esperanza a todo el movimiento del patinaje sobre ruedas: por fin tenemos la oportunidad de demostrar que nuestras disciplinas tienen un potencial atlético y la capacidad de atraer al público de los más jóvenes, y que son dignas de ser parte de los Juegos Olímpicos!
La decisión fue anunciada el sábado, y es el primer gran reconocimiento para nuestros atletas, para nuestras disciplinas y para todos los valores que el patinaje sobre ruedas difunde y representa. Estoy feliz de que la nueva gerencia del COI por fin está valorando el enorme potencial que las disciplinas del patinaje sobre ruedas pueden proporcionar a todo el movimiento Olímpico. Ya en ocasión de la última reunión con Christophe Dubi, que se celebró en Lausana en 19 de Noviembre, me sentí confortado y sereno ya que hablando, entre otros, del tema de los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud, recibí señales positivos.
Pero nunca creí o esperé que esas señales se pudieran traducir en algo real, dándole un vuelco a nuestro sueño olímpico y de forma tan rápida!
Es un gran placer para mí tener confirmación de lo que pensé y dije tras la elección del COI, decepcionante para nosotros, de reintegrar la Lucha en los Juegos: el trabajo que hicimos hasta ahora no fue y no será en vano!
Esta noticia es una primera confirmación de que el mensaje que intentamos transmitir fue recibido: los deportes sobre ruedas son frescos, jóvenes, dinámicos y merecen de ser parte del programa de los Juegos! Nunca quisimos ser parte del programa a toda costa: pedimos la oportunidad de demostrar que podemos llevar una nueva vida a todo el movimiento, y finalmente tendremos esta oportunidad!
En los próximos meses trabajaremos todos juntos para ser capaz de escoger lo mejor y dar a nuestros atletas la oportunidad de realizar Su Sueño!
