Margaret Brook presidente del CIPA

Presso THE TRUSTS STADIUM di Auckland, dove è in corso di svolgimento la 57ma edizione dei Campionati Mondiali di Pattinaggio Artistico, ha avuto luogo nella mattinata l’Assemblea elettiva che come di norma chiude il quadriennio olimpico. I delegati, in rappresentanza di 28 nazioni, hanno eletto per acclamazione come nuovo Presidente del Comitato Internazionale Pattinaggio Artistico l’inglese Margaret Brook, Presidente del Comitato Europeo Pattinaggio Artistico e vice-presidente Cipa. Nel prestigioso incarico ai vertici del pattinaggio artistico internazionale Margaret Brook succede allo statunitense Jim Pollard che ha guidato il Comitato per 28 anni dopo una carriera intensa nelle vesti di atleta, allenatore, giudice. Era presente all’Assemblea il Presidente della Federazione Internazionale Roller Sports Sabatino Aracu che ci ha rilasciato una dichiarazione: “Desidero ringraziare Jim Pollard per la passione e la competenza con cui ha guidato il Cipa per tanti anni, una vita intera dedicata allo sviluppo di questa disciplina. Un prezioso bagaglio di esperienze che non deve andare perduto e in questo senso ho chiesto a Jim di continuare a collaborare con la Federazione Internazionale. Il mio augurio di buon lavoro a Margaret Brook, altro dirigente sportivo di alto profilo, che sono sicuro saprà coniugare al meglio le esigenze di una guida stabile del movimento così come la necessità di rinnovarne le strutture per renderlo sempre più adeguato alle sfide dei giorni nostri.”
